HLA supports students as they prepare for college or future careers.

We are dedicated to the philosophy of individualized instruction, using a modified approach to academics. Instructional materials and methods are adjusted to meet the needs of each student on the basis of ongoing formal and informal assessments. HLA challenges students and enables them to realize their innate potential.

HLA also stresses student responsibility and development of a personal sense of values. The school provides clear-cut guidelines and boundaries from which students are given flexibility and choice.

HLA offers a standard college-bound curriculum and follows the state of Texas requirements for graduation. In addition to courses in English, history, mathematics, and science, HLA provides a wide variety of electives.
